How To Stay Engaged – 3 Tips To Keep You In Your Game

Do you just feel like throwing in the towel at times? Have you ever thought to yourself, “Why am I hanging around these negative nellies?” Do you ever wonder why it’s so important to keep your mindset on positive and lovely things? Then let’s watch this video and have a conversation about it.

My middle nephew came to visit me and to help him with his career plans. During his visit, I got really present to a few things, that I just had to share. One of the biggest things that jumped right out at me was “negative self-talk.” It’s so darn destructive and yet mostly all of us are unaware that we do it in the first place. We do it everytime we dismiss our little wins. We do it when we make excuses for us not doing x,y, or z. We do it to make our friends look and feel better. I can do a whole video series on this. Yet, I only want to focus on 3 quick things you and I can do to keep ourselves engaged and on our game court.

I will confess, I was so worried about putting this video out there and sharing. It wasn’t perfect and blah blah blah. I just finished reading Grant Cardone’s book – Be Obsessed or Be Average.   Now, I am taking action; and that action is doing this. I am going to stick with internet marketing, self-branding till I get it right.  When we stay engaged and on the court, we can get things done and create wins for ourselves. These 4 Things Can Make A Huge Difference For Your Internet Business

 

Let’s just cut to the chase. There are a lot of people out there on the internet promoting their products to teach you and I how to work from home and make money on the internet. Some of the programs promise quick and easy money, while some are promising you the keys to success and the chance to win a used BMW.

In this video, I cover 4 things you should know before you buy any program or start a program.

1. You will and you must spend money on your personal development.
2. You will need to buy additional products and services to help with marketing and driving traffic to your website, convert that traffic into leads, and then a sale.
3. You will go days, weeks, months, maybe even a year or more without sales.
4. You must have staying power and be prepared to stay in this till you win.

Let’s be extra frank, internet marketing is a business and as such it requires an entrepreneurial mind, resources, a marketing plan, etc. The only different between an internet based business and a traditional “brick and mortar” is a building. Both businesses have similar challenges, just handled slightly differently.

This list is not comprehensive, I am sure I will revise it as time goes on. For now, this is what I know and I want to share it with you. In the end, I am still convinced, that internet marketing is awesome and a great way to create the life of your dreams. You just need to go into it with your eyes wide open.

Tools To Help You To Be Who You Must Become To Win

The Slight Edge

First let me just say this – buy this book! If you ever think, feel like, wonder, doubt, or can’t seem to figure out why crap just keeps happening to you… despite the fact you’ve done all you can to keep it 100. Then this book is for you!

Listen, I’ve struggled with success and failures. In the real-estate bubble I had 3 homes and lost them. In the sales bubble, I would hit high numbers – then go back down. It wasn’t until I started to learn to internet marketing with Empower Network, that I discovered this book and why I was not being consistent in my actions. This book is knocking the gray lenses on my eyes right off. This book has shown me that it is the little things that we do or don’t do, that makes all the difference.  Success is just a bunch small little boring things that must be done. This book reminded me… that winning is in the completion of the small things. The stuff no one cares about, because it just seems so unimportant. For example in business to business sales, you must make sales calls to schedule appointments. No sale calls no appointments. No quota achievement, no commissions.  League bowler…rush the shot -pull the bowling ball to the left or right. In our rush rush society everyone wants the baby – not the labor/pregnancy. You will learn that time is really on your side. Just in chapter 5 alone, you will clearly see that time is going to pass regardless of your choices – the question is will you let time help you or let time pass you by.  One more cool thing about this book. At the end of each chapter they actually share live testimonials from people all around the world. People who have different goals and desires, and how they have put the book to good use to reach them. You and I can do the same.

One final thought. Just last week I was struggling with making sales calls. I didn’t want to call those cold leads.  However, after reading this book I was aware of the power of my choices. Yes, I could have not made those calls. And life would have continued. Yet, not making those calls would have resulted in no activity. No possibility for a closed deal, meeting with a potential client, or maybe an introduction to someone they know.  Thus I made those calls…and now I can honestly say I took the actions. Isn’t that what a 200% sales quota achiever would have done? He/she would have made those calls…and even if they didn’t reach anyone on the phone. While doing those calls, I got inspired to mail those leads some marketing materials… let’s see how it goes. When you know the power of your decisions and how they impact your goals, you will start to make better decisions consistent with who you want to be.  Get the book!

The Compound Effect

 Yes, I am going to say BUY THE BOOK!!!!!  So when I bought “The Slight Edge” it was recommended that I get this book by Darren Hardy! This guy is a freaking genius.  Look, I just wrote an article on the power of Be/Do/Have. If you focus on “be” then you will “do” and you will “have.” This book a tool to get you to “be” the person you must “be” so that you can “do” what must be done, so that you can “have” what you want. It’s really that simple.

If you look on page 72, you will see that he address the need to ‘be’come the person that is required to hit your new goal. You can’t be a professional bowler, as an amateur. You can’t lose and keep out 20 pounds without being a healthy person. I can’t be 200% quota achiever, as 140% quota person. It just doesn’t work – corn will never grow in sweet potatoes.

Another cool aspect of this book, each chapter has action steps for you and I to really drive home the message of the book. In the first chapter you will be asked to write out your excuses that you cling to not be a group fitness instructor, internet marketer, 200% of quota achiever in your sales job, whatever. Write out a list of small things you can stop doing that might be compounding your results in the wrong direction. Then write a list of steps you can take, no matter how small, to reach your destination. Finally write out a list of your successes. We all have them…marriage, a relationship that lasted more than a weekend. A cool thing with our parents, family, friends. Or just the fact you can sell snow to an Eskimo. We all have a lot more going for us than we acknowledge.  It’s eye opening to see that if I continue to build upon my wins, things just keeps getting better.   

Finally, this book is packed with a resource guide that’s designed to help you maximize your compounding experience. I don’t want to give it all away, go get the book, read it, and apply it – and win!!!

Listen these tools will work for any goal you have. They will work in any industry, field, lifestyle, etc. See a screw diver is only concerned with being a screw diver and being used correctly as intended. You want to use these tools to help you to become the person you need to be, so that you can start to do, do more of, become consistent in doing what’s required, for you to have what you want. That’s the only real way to get your vibrations in alignment with what you want. Your vibrations is reflected in your being and doing. If you aren’t getting the results you want, then only you can change it. The faster you realize that the success you want is waiting on you to line up, the faster you can have it. Use these tools to help you get there faster.  

Finally, I only discovered these books recently from the internet marketing program I am taking. I was listening to an inner circle audio training and they mentioned these books. So I bought them and read them. The program requires you invest in your personal development by reading 30 minutes a day and listing to an audio book. I’ve been doing it for awhile and things are just popping. The things I am learning, the person I am becoming, the way I respond to things is just different. One of my friends told me that she’s noticed a change just the other day.  So yeah, it’s worth it, because I’m worth it!!!! 

You’ve got to invest in yourself  to be a better husband, father, wife, mother, student, employee, bowling buddy, cyclist, uncle, employee, marketer…it doesn’t matter. Nothing grows on this planet without TLC! Your mind, life, and future are no different.  You must “be” who you must become to win. Start now.
